Hey Ladies - Angela Perry asked me to post the websites I use to find coupons/deal alerts and match-ups! What a great idea - I hadn't thought of that before! LOL

Walgreens, CVS & Wal-Mart Deals!

After church and the egg hunt on Sunday we got some lunch. I talked the Daddy and the boys
into letting me stop in at Walgreens to snag a few items. I know that if you wait to late in the week the deals are usually gone. They had a register reward deal going on that I didn't want to miss! I also had a couple of register rewards that were going to expire Monday and I certainly didn't want to lose those! :) I did separate transactions so that I could get multiple rewards! I got $2.99 on each stayfree - plus I used a $1 off coupon on each so money maker there!!!

Nature made vitamins are B1G1F and I had two $7 off one coupons that I earned on the website. So I got two bottles of Cholest off for $6! Awesome!!!! $3 a bottle is a lot better than $19.99!

After Walgreens I convinced them to stop at CVS as well...hehe!
I was really glad I stopped at CVS on Sunday! They had Dove Men's deodorant on sale for .99! A steal on it's own - well I just happened to have four $1 off coupons - so I got four for FREE!!! Oh Yeah! Well the funny thing is - someone had almost cleared the shelves! There was four left, so I grabbed them quick! I am not sure when they get their trucks in but I am thinking they need to stock more of their sale items! I also got Blink eye drops using a $1 coupon and got $7.99 extra bucks! Yeah!!! The Biore products were on sale for $7 and I had buy 1 strips get 1 cleanser free - and I got $5 in extra bucks for each four items I bought ($10 EB in all). Basically I paid $2.25 each! I also got M&M's using a B2G1F coupon along with the B2G1F sale that CVS has on this week so I got 15 bags for the price of 5! Yeah! Stashing these away for a rainy day!

Today my sweet hubby took the boys to the gym and I got to shop Wal-Mart kid free! Woo-Hoo! It doesn't happen often, but when it does oh boy oh boy I love it! Don't get me wrong I love my kiddos, but man it always takes longer when they are with me! I picked up some good deals and save $99.10 with my ads and coupons! Woo-Hoo! And I have to say that if you shop the Midlothian Wal-Mart - Monday morning is the day to go - it's quiet and look for a cashier named Rebecca - she is spectacular, sweet and coupon friendly!!! :)

Here are some of the good deals I got! I matched an ad for Pop Tarts and used a $1/3 coupon so I got a great deal! $1.75 - .33 = $1.42 each! I also matched an ad for BBQ sauce - it was .79 versus the $1.28 wal-mart price! And I had coupons for .50 off each bottle so I actually paid .29 each! Woo-Hoo! Summer BBQ!

Here you see my two FREE cheese sticks - that I actually made .07 cents each on! The cake mix was on sale for .88 with an ad match and I used a coupon for .75 cent off a mix and icing combo - so I got a good deal 1.75 for both items or .88 cents each! I was also very excited that I found a cake mix that didn't have milk in it. Yeah! The coffee was $1! Woo-Hoo! I matched an ad and used a $2/1 coupon! The dan-a-nino was .88 each. I matched an ad and used $1/1 coupons - score!

I also stocked up on veggies using a $1/2 coupon - Wal-Mart had a roll back so they are now only $1 - sweet deal - .50 a bag! I love Steamers!

I stocked us up on our favorite go to food - hot dogs! I matched an ad for .78 each and used my $1/2 coupons so I snagged them for .28 a package - can't beat that deal!

These are the 2 packs of Purex 3-n-1 sheets. I love these things, but am too cheap...ummmm frugel, to pay full price. But I got these - all 21 of them for FREE! Actually wal-mart paid me .03 each to take them out of the store...can't be that!

Oh my favorite condiment...Miracle Whip - ad match for $1.99 and a coupon for $1/2 - so $1.49 a jar! Can't beat that!!! Even better that all six jars had .50 cent coupon stuck to it!

Sprouts had a great apple sale this week - .88 a pound - I saved over $3.50 using the ad match! Yummy!

I even got Hubby a couple of cucumbers for .39 off the wal-mart price using an ad match! Can't beat that!

I matched an ad for Quaker bars - $1.99 plus I used a $1/2 coupon so I got them for $1.49 each! Love it!!!

I matched an ad for Imperial Sugar - $2 each and used a .50 coupon and got them for $1.50 a bag - got 6 at that price!

The flour was also an ad match. .99 a bag so I picked up four!

Have you ever tried a Chocolate Chip Eggo? Oh my goodness if you haven't- you don't know what you are missing!!! It's like a dessert or something - awesome, spectacular, wonderful! Okay back to my deal...lol...I matched an ad for $1.88 and then used a $2/3 coupon. I grabbed some French Toast Sticks for Bug - his fav and regular Eggos for Red - his fav!

Of course Wal-Mart has all of their Easter goodies on half price...so I snagged some goodies for our geocaching box as well as a 6 pack of plaster animals to paint for the art box.

A great shopping day at Walgreens & CVS

The boys and I stopped in to grab a few good deals at Walgreens and CVS this afternoon. It was a great shopping day and the dreary weather didn't discourage the cashiers or the manager on duty! Woo-Hoo! I have to say that if dreary weather is what puts them in good moods then hey - gray days come on! That is sad, but I am often disappointed with the non-friendly store personnel at the Wax. stores.

Our first stop was Walgreens. Walgreens has a great deal on Scotch Magic tape this week: (using an in-ad coupon) buy 1 @ 1.99 get two free - well I printed two $1/1 coupons so it was actually three for free! Plus I had a $1/3 coupon in my binder from a package of paper I bought years ago - so I got another 3 for .99 cents. I did this in three transactions. I also picked up Dawn for .74 cents. It's on sale for .99 cents and I used a .25 cent coupon. :) I even found a new scent - smells great! I also picked up a new headband for FREE! ($3 with a $3rr)

The always liners were on sale for 2/$6 with a $4 rr if you buy 2. Well I had some .50/1 coupons so I thought - what a great deal! Well I did my first transaction and the rr didn't print. Poo! The cashier was baffled and wondered if it's because I was using a coupon - so she called up the manager. The manager rang two boxes (without coupons) just to "test" the machine and poop - no rr! What's up with this! So after it was all said and done and she tried several scenarios without luck - she ended up doing and "exchange" for the two I had bought at $3 each and giving me four boxes at $1 each - that way I still got the rr. I wasn't able to use my other two coupons because I actually got cash back on the exchange - but I won't complain! LOL - I got 4 boxes for .83 cents! It was crazy and confusing when it first took place, but after sitting and pouring over my receipts in the car for five minutes I figured out what she had done. LOL The cashier was so sweet and very kind and the manager was too! :)

CVS was our second stop. The boys enjoyed browsing the Easter goodie aisle while we were there and picked out a goodie for Daddy. I also picked up a few goodies, but didn't picture any of those for obvious reasons! LOL

I picked up shave gel for Hubby for $3.29 - .55 mc and $2.30 EB = .44 cents! Yeah! I also grabbed Colgate for $1 - .75 mc = .25 cents each! Woo-Hoo! I saved an extra .25 cents using my 25% coupon and also used 2.99 EB so I paid - $2.43 for two toothpaste, two shave gel and 5 easter goodies! Yippee!

Well that was my shopping finds for today...as always be kind to your cashiers, leave an extra coupon on the shelf for the next consumer and Check Those Receipts!

Happy Easter Shopping!

Coupon Reorganization Project!

Okay I decided last week that my coupon organization just wasn't working for me. I am always amazed that I can "remember" what coupons are in my binder and what I have recently cut. But while browsing online at one of the coupon sites I follow, Raining Hot Coupons, I got some ideas about how to organize better and more efficiently! I generally pick up the weeks coupons towards the end of the week and I try really hard to make sure they are sorted and clipped right away. I find that if I don't, boy oh boy does it get out of hand quickly!

In this picture you can see how I started. I pulled all the coupons out of my binder (expect the peelies and catalinas and the ones that I had printed). I laid them all out so I could staple an strays and see exactly what I had to work on. What a task!

Here you can see where I was pulling them out of the food binder.

For inserts that I had not clipped yet - I simply put the date on the front to file. I only had one of this particular insert so this is all I did to this one.

For inserts that I have more than one of I sort the pages and staple at least one coupon - this holds them together in the file. Bug really enjoys "couponing" with me, so this is a great way to get him involved without making too much of a mess and making me crazy! LOL He takes the inserts and lays them out on the living room rug and sorts them out. Woo-Hoo! He's a great helper! And I am sure their is some life skill in here...and reading...lots of reading practice as well. He cracks me up because he reads like every single coupon to me. LOL- What a great kid!

After I had all the coupons out of the binder, I began the arduous task of sorting them according to date and which insert they came from. Then they went into baggies. Each baggy has a date and abbreviation for the insert.

Some weeks have two bags and some more - but each insert gets it's own little baggie. Inside the baggie is all the clipped coupons (which are stapled together).

These bags go into a file box with hanging folders - I will show more on this later in the post.

Here is a close-up of my "reorganized" coupon binder - I am using heart shaped sticky notes for now. Someone told me that Post-It makes tabs that you can stick on - something like binder tabs - but it's just the tab. So I am going to look for some of those. Until then hot pink hearts it is! :)

Each little heart is labeled with a category. My categories include: Albertsons; Target; Baby; Cleaners; Dairy; Dry Foods; Frozen; Household; Meds; Personal Hygiene; Pets and Photo; Refrigerated & Snacks.

This is the very front of my binder. I put all of Albertsons and Target coupons in their own category so they would be easier to find.

Here is a close-up of my file crate. Each week has a green hanging folder with a tab labeled with the date. Then the bags and inserts go into the hanging file folder.

Well, I guess that is it. The reorganization project took a couple of days of sorting and labeling and such - but I have to say that I feel good about it.

I am still using my small file folder so that when I create my list and match up my coupons I can carry that with me easily. I still have my binder with all the catalinas, peelies and printed coupons as well as those I get from books, magazines and such.

I don't really think there is a perfect system, it's really want works for you! :)

Happy Couponing!

Kroger, Albertson's & Wal-Mart

I noticed after I started uploading my photos that I had done it backwards. Oops! :) You will see Wal-mart first, but it was actually my last stop. LOL - oh well!

When I started unloading groceries and deals I noticed most of my stuff went either right to the stockpile or out to the extra fridge/freezer - so I didn't necessarily put it all in the pictures.

Here are my wal-mart deals.

I got more free cat food using the Purina One Beyond coupons. I also got free degree deodorants +.03 cents money maker on each. I also picked up 2 packs of Colgate Wisps for .47 cents using a $1/1 manufacturer's coupon.

I printed a couple of $1/1 Toaster Strudel coupons from coupons.com (awesome) so the Toaster studel's were .98 cents each. I also used $1/1 manufacturer's coupons and picked up six pouches of Uncle Ben's for .50 cents each. I also picked up 2 string cheese - Free + .07 cents money maker on each! :) I used .75 cents/2 Starkist pouches - so they were .40 cents each. I got ketchup for .99 cents a bottle using an ad from Minyard.

We were out of yogurt again so I was excited to see an ad at Minyard for .50 cents each. I used my "Free Cup" coupon I got in the mail to get one free plus I used two .40 cents/6 cups. So I actually saved 10 cents a cup and paid .40 cents each in the end. Plus I got ALL thick and creamy - the best of all! Yum-O! Cherry Cobbler is so awesome! :)

The grapes and apples were more ad matching deals. I matched another Minyard ad for .79 cent a pound. That's .35 cents savings per pound!

The grapes were an ad match from Save-a-lot - .99 cents a pound which was a savings of .87 cents a pound - Yeah!

More ad matches here. Bluebonnet tubs were on sale for $2.19 at El Rancho so I grabbed two for the freezer. Imperial sticks were on sale at Save-a-lot for .50 cents each so I stocked up for cookie baking! El Rod's had Jimmy Dean sausage and Bar S bacon on sale for $2.18 - I used a $1.50/2 Jimmy Dean coupon and got a great deal at $1.43 a roll - that is less than 1/2 the regular wal-mart price! Woo-Hoo! I used a $5.00 off any Bar S product coupon, so I paid .51 cents a pack for the bacon. (I got this coupon in the mail from the company - sign up on their website!)

I matched an ad at Minyard on coffee - $2.50 each minus printable coupons from coupons.com - $2/1, and three $1/1. So for 4 canisters I paid $5 or $1.25 each. Not bad!

Okay on to Albertsons. They have had the best apples the past few weeks - we've been buying the Fugi apples, but this week the Fugi's didn't look as great as the Pink Ladies. I am hoping they taste as good! We go through a lot of apples around here. It's one of the few fruit's Bug will eat - so I always try to keep them on hand! .99 cents a pound - yummy deal!

Albertson's is doing a Mega sale this week (Buy 10 of a certain product get $5 off at the register). The catch is you can only do one of these deals at a time. So we ended up doing 2 transactions, but that's not anything new - we usually end up doing more than one in at least one store. We picked up Dial 3 packs in the mega sale - $1.29 each B10G$5O = .99 each - .35 cent manufacturer's coupons (4 of these tripled) = final price .36 cents a 3 pack or .12 cents a bar. Awesome!

K.C. Masterpiece BBQ sauce was another Mega sale deal so we did this one in a separate transaction - B10G$5O - they end up being .79 cents each - plus I used .50 cent
manufacturer's coupons (4 which doubled) so they ended up being .09 cents each.

Pedigree cans were on sale for .79 cents so I used some of those B1G1F manufacturer's coupons and got it for .40 cents a can.

At Kroger I snagged several good deals. They had wish bone dressing on sale for $1.74 and I used a couple of .75 cent printables from coupons.com so it was .99 cents each.

Broccoli crowns were on sale for $1 a pound. Oh I love this sale - broccoli is one of the (very) few veggies that I will eat and the kids eat it too so I always love to see a sale!
Kroger also had the smaller cans of Grands and Pillsbury sweet rolls on sale for $1. I used a .30/3 grands coupon (which tripled) and got them for .70 cents each. I used a .30/1 sweet rolls coupon (which tripled) and got them for .10 cents! Yummy!
Free Yakisoba's - .50 cent coupon (doubled).
I used a .50/1 coupon for rice (which doubled) so the rice was .19 cents a bag.
Okay that is my deals for the day! It was a good shopping trip and a good time with the boys. They really helped shop today and helped count the items, find the right stuff and at the self-checkout Bug helped check and Red helped bag - what a team we were! Life skills in action! :)

Until next time...clip clip clip and don't forget to check those receipts!

Walgreens & Target Deals!

Target deals are so awesome! The cool thing about Target is you can stack manufacturer's coupons with the printable Target coupons (Target.com).

I grabbed the trident gum using a manufacturer's B1G1F coupon stacked with a $1/2 Target coupon s0 I grabbed gum for .15 cents a pack!

I stacked a $1 off Target coupon with a $1 off manufacturer's coupon and grabbed a bar of Aveeno for .89 cents.

The soft scrub cleaner was another stack deal. It was on sale for $2.50 - minus a $1/1 Target coupon and a $1/1 manufacturer's coupon = .50 cents.

I found Dove deodorants on clearance for .70 cents - used a $1/1 manufacturer's coupon and wah-lah - .30 money maker on each. I am putting these aside to donate to the Hearts for Hero's soldier boxes.

I also found carefree on clearance - $2.08 a box - so I used a $2/2 coupon and got them for $1.08 each!

I used $6/2 manufacturer's coupons on the Motrin PM - .99 cents each!

I grabbed Reese's PB cups using a B1G1F Target coupon printable - yummy deal for .35 cents each!

I love Target - don't forget your reusable bags - worth 5 cents each!!!

Walgreens was my other stop in town. I was out of coffee mate so it the B1G1F sale was just in time! I used $1/2 manufacturer's coupons as well so I paid .75 cents each! I also grabbed some free snickers eggs using manufacturer's coupons and free Dial lotion! :)

.40 Cents! (Well actually .20!)

A trip to CVS turned out to be the best stop of the day! I stopped in for cereal and fruit cups and stock up I did. Since Red can no longer have yogurt or anything with milk - fruit cups have become my life saver...that and Jello!

CVS had Dole fruit cups on sale 3/$5.00 - I used .50/2 coupons which means I would have picked them up for $1.25.

Cereal was on sale for $1.87 - so I grabbed some fruit loops and apple jacks. I used $1/2 coupons and would have paid $$1.37 a box.

The big catch was I used extra bucks from the past weeks as well as a $4.00 off $20 purchase coupon. The $4.00 coupon I got via email - woo hoo!

After my MC, EB and CVS coupon my grand total was .40 cents! Spectacular!

The funny thing is as I walked out the door I dropped one of my extra reusable bags and when I bent over to grab it I found 2 DIMES! LOL - so I guess you can say my grand total was really .20 cents!

Woo-Hoo!
