Rango, Kroger, Tom Thumb and Albertsons

My sweet Hubby and I decided Saturday would be a great day to take the boys for a picture show, Chinese food (at our favorite restaurant) and some shopping. Okay so maybe they weren't so excited about the shopping...but they decided it was worth the trip to see Rango! ;)

So we headed to the movies and found a great deal when we got there! We had our free movie passes (Thanks Uncle Phillip!) so the movie didn't cost us anything to get in to. I brought along the Cinemark giftcard I found in the bottom of my purse (it still had $6.50 on it) and printed my weekly movie coupon from Cinemark (Buy any size popcorn get a free small drink) so we were set! Then we got in line and saw a deal - Buy a $6 popcorn tub and get $3 refills until 12/31/11. Plus we got our free soda - used the gift card and paid a big fat $0! Yippee! My Hubby and my boys are HUGE popcorn fans so getting a great "refillable" tub deal is so CoOl! Doing the savings dance here!!!

After Rango (- which the boys thought was completely hilarious!!!) we headed over to Ton's for some awesome, delicious, tremendously superb Chinese food. They have the BEST egg rolls ever!

After refueling we were ready to shop. Reusable bags,
coupon books and DS's in tow we headed to Kroger -
our first deals of the day were awaiting our arrival!

I think the favorite here was the Cinnamon Cheerios - the boys and my Hubby absolutely LoVe them and with my 75 cent off coupon they were a great deal! I also got Hamburger helper (Bug's favorite meal) for 72 cents a box. The (best ever) Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie were $1 each and the fiber one bars were a great deal at .79 - my 50 cent coupon doubled and I had a 50 cent ecoupon as well! Woo-hoo! Hubby found apples 3 for $1 and I picked up B1G1F Vitamins - I used some $1 off coupons and got Red's kid vitamins for $4.50 (120) and Vitamin D for Hubby and I for $4.30 (100). I got puffs for .99 cents (200 ct!!!) and 8 rolls of Bounty paper towels for $2.99 - That was a great deal - on sale for $5.99 - $1 P&G coupon and a $2 ecoupon! AwEsOmE!!! We also picked up 17 bottles of Mentos gum for FREE! It was on sale for $1 - used my 50 cent coupons - which doubled and presto - chango - FrEe gum!

Our next stop was Tom Thumb. The boys like the car baskets here! :) We even took the time to do a money lesson with Bug since the store was slow and there wasn't anyone behind us in line. The cashier was just the sweetest! We found fruit snacks on sale for .49 cents after coupons - one was actually free since they doubled the first one. I also found Quaker oatmeal squares for 49 cents. They were on sale - buy 4 pay $1.49 each - well combined with my $1 off coupon - 49 cents! I actually got the last 4! Cheerios were included in this sale and I had some $1/2 coupons so I paid .99 cents a box! Eggos were on sale for $2 and I used a $2 off 3 coupon to score big - $1.33 each! Hubby and Bug went to pick out the yogurt and found a sweet deal on Dannon Light and Fit - on clearance for 50% off $1.99 - factor in a 40 cent (doubles!) coupon and the final price was 19 cents for a 4 pack! The Danimals were a great deal too - Bug loves these things! A super coupon brought the price to $1.77 each with my $1 off coupons - it was 77 cents for a 6 pack! Love it! The boys were excited when they saw me putting the pop tarts in the cart (a rare treat at our house) - a super coupon brought them to $1.49 and with a $1/2 - .99 cents was a great price! We got 2 liters for 77 cents with a super coupon. I actually divided the basket so we could both get this deal! Love it!!! Pillsbury cinnamon rolls were on sale for $1.50 and with a coupon for 30 cents off (triples!!!) I paid 60 cents each. We did this in three transactions so we could triple the coupon each time! Gotta get the best deal! Bug paid for one all by himself - great money counting lesson! Our last find was Lysol toliet bowl cleaner and disinfecting wipes. A super coupon brought them down to $1.49 and using $1/2 coupons I paid only .99 cents each!

Our last stop brought us to Albertsons. The boys like the emergency vehicle buggy's here -
they usually try to pick a new one each time! I have to admit these 1000 pound buggies are not my favorite, but in the spirit of motherhood I usually find myself pushing one thro
ughout the store! While Hubby and Bug went in search of Marcal paper towels (on sale for 1.19 - $1 coupon = 19 cents each), I began with the Archway cookies display. A $2 off cookie coupon in the weekly circular made these a yummy deal! I also found some good meat deals inhere - They had sirloin steaks on for $2.98 - since my Hubby loves steak tips on for his salad I picked up a package for his lunches these week. I also found boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.49 lb and pork chops for $1.49 a pound. Great deal! Margarine was $2.19 a tub and I got a 50 cent off coupon for my gallon of milk! Cool deal! I found bread for 99 cents a loaf too - grabbed a couple of those!!! Our splurge was the Cutie's tangerines and a couple of tangelos...my Hubby absolutely adores Cutie's tangerines and with my 55 cent off coupon it didn't hurt so much to pay more for something he loves!

Well that was our savings trip for the day...I enjoyed shopping with my hubby and the boys...it was quite funny when we got out to the car and thought - where in the world are we gonna fit 20 rolls of paper towels?!?!?! LOL - a little creative packing and we got it done though!

So until next time...shop smart, clip coupons and check those receipts!

CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart & Target...Whew!

This is what $7.50 looks like! Cool!!!!

CVS was a great place to shop yesterday afternoon! The cashier was friendly, the deals were hot and the items were in stock!

I used my rain checks from last week to pick up 6 bottles of Purex for 99 cents each and 4 boxes of Purex 3-in-1 sheets for 99 cents each! Woo-Hoo!

I also got 2 bottle of dawn for 44 cents and one for 69 cents. That's a good one! I love Dawn! It's great for getting greasy stains out of clothing!

The crest was a prize I had a $1 off coupon plus I got $6.58 in register rewards for next shopping trip! Woo-Hoo! Folgers -Yummy! I paid $1.50 for 2 and $2.00 for one with my coupons.

I ventured down to Walgreens next and picked up some great deals! I was sad to find they were out of baby magic and Motrin - but that is to be expected this late in the week! Kuddos to those who snagged the deals!
My all-time favorite juice - Welch's grape - yum-o! I am generally too cheap to buy it, but with my $1 off coupons and the sale it was a great price! I got the last 2. Walgreens has an in-ad coupon for $1/3 peroxide. This is a great buy b/c we go through a lot of peroxide cleaning toothbrushes. I picked up a bottle of Mazola olive oil for 2.99 with my 50 cent coupon. I wish I had found more of these! :( Good buy! The Colgate was $2.99 - .75 coupon and $3 register rewards! Yippee on that buy! Nivea lip balm is on sale for $2.99 with $2 register rewards, and I had a $2/2 coupon so those were free. Love it!

My next stop was Wal-Mart. I had 20 of those $2/1 dentastix coupons so I decided to use them before they expire and stock up Lady our German Shepherd with treats! I cleaned them out for 98 cents each. I matched a store ad from El Rancho and got tomato sauce 6/$1 and 40 mission tortillas for $2.88 - that is more than $2 off the regular Wal-mart price! Free planters almonds ~ Thank you to Alejandro the Spanish Almond for that deal!!! ;) I also matched an ad for Jimmy Dean sausage - $2.18 each - $1.50/2 = $1.43 a roll - that's better than 1/2 price! My hubby loves to make me breakfast tacos so it's a great thing to keep him stocked! :) Love you babe!

While browsing the clearance racks in the men's dept. I found toboggans for 25 cents! Oh Yeah! I stocked up on 16 of these - I like to include them in soldier boxes, use them for the kids and various other things I come across during the winter months! Not to mention I am a toboggan "wearer" myself! I also picked up t-shirts for the boys at $1 each and a 3 pack of starter t-shirts for my hubby for $3!

My last stop of the day was Target. Since I was "kidless" for the afternoon I decided to do some browsing and deal-hunting! So I lugged my coupons books and my reusable shopping bags in and went on the hunt for the deals! I picked up Target brand household cleaner for 37 cents! Windex was on sale for $2.24, I stacked my $1/1 MC with my $1/2 Target Coupons and got it for 74 cents each. 3 of the bottles had a bonus Shout color catcher attached! W00-Hoo! I love bonus'! I also pickd up wet cat food for 26 cents each - Target had a price drop on this one! I had a $1.50/1 Target Coupon for Jet dry which I stacked with a 40 cent off MC. I also picked up another package of light bulbs for 49 cents (stacked a $1.50 Target coupon with a $1 off MC). I used my 50 cent target coupons on the q-tips - $1.12 for 300! I got Target Tylenol (100) for $2 - used my $1/1 $3 up and up purchase that printed last time I shopped! :) I also picked up another kid's Target Tylenol with a $1 Target coupon. Target has 20 count Motrin PM for $3.99 - I used the $6/2 coupons I had and got them each for 99 cents. Other deals included $1 off ground meat (from the Target mail-out) and storage bags - used a 50 cent off Target coupon on those! I found sports bras on clearance in the women's section! $2.56 for 2! I picked up 2 boxes of emerald 100 calorie packs for $4 - then I used my $1.50/2 coupon for a deal of $1.25 a box! Oh I almost forgot the vitamins! I found a twin pack of vitamin D on clearance for $4.98 - I used a $1/1 MC stacked with a $1/1 Target coupon for a awesome deal of $1.49 each!

While browsing through the stationary section I came across a couple of sweet deals! Crayola has this create your own shadow box kit and it's was on clearance for $3.74. My oldest absolutely LOVES creative artsy type stuff! This is a great find - I am putting it back for a rainy day!

I also found these paint your own magnets on clearance for $1 - another great rainy day project!

And here you will see my own personal favorite Target find!!!! I am a ToTaL list making NUT! I love highlighters! It's a must for my couponing lists as well, so to find a clearance pack for 58 cents is a SO HOT deal!!!

Whew...now I am tired just talking about it. LOL - what fun it is finding the deals and saving the money!!!

Mom's out shopping while the boys are home!

The trip actually started at Target. Red and I started out at the front with the Dr. Seuss readers. We listened to a couple of stories and got a goodie bag! Yippee! Daddy and Bug showed up and he got a goodie bag too. The boys and I did a little shopping while Daddy ran and errand. That made for an interesting trip since I had A LOT of deals to peg before I left Target! But we made it! Thanks for some $1 off kid's meal coupons at the food court it turned out well!

I scored some good deals like zip top bags - which was awesome because I was completely out!

Other good deals included Finish dishwashing tabs for 25 cents and FREE jeans - 2 pairs for me! Woo-Hoo! 4 cent Dentyne was another find! 99 cent cereal and 49 cent lightbulbs were also on the list. I got some FREE Maalox and even made a little on that one! Yippee!

All in all it was a great haul! I took a bill of $120.12 down to $11.67 with sales and coupons. Not bad, Not bad at all!!! :)

After Target Hubby and the boys headed home...they were done shopping. LOL

I headed over to Walgreens. Walgreens had some good sales this last week. I picked up some
more pringles with my $1 off 2 coupons that were going to expire on the 28th. We love pringles around here so a coupon is never wasted! I also got a good deal on ziplocs with my $1.25 off 2 coupon - I even found a couple of "bonus" boxes! :)

Dove deodorant was my find of the day!
Walgreen's had a coupon in their circular for $1.99 and I had several $2 coupons! Woo-Hoo! FREE deodorant. I shared a several coupons with another lady in the aisle and she was excited about getting a good deal too! We did a little Free deodorant dance right there in the store! ;)

Other good finds were Jello, gum and Axe Deodorant. My Hubby has been wanting some Axe and I keep saying be patient it will go on sale. ;) So with the sale and B1G1F Coupons I paid $1.20 each. I also stocked up on gain dish liquid before my coupons went out. I picked up Cholestoff B1G1F and used $4 coupons for a heck of a deal!

Although the Cholestoff turned out to be quite an ordeal. Apparently when stocked a different type was put in with the regular one we buy and I didn't notice. So Sunday I went back in to exchange it for the correct one. Mind you I had already gotten my "free" one on Saturday. Well when the cashier rang it up he refunded the wrong one but didn't charge me for the right one because Walgreens has the same B1G1F sale this week. Well I had a feeling it was wrong, but staring at the receipt I couldn't figure it out. Well, when I got home and went over this weeks ad I saw the B1G1F ad and thought - that's what it was - the computer automatically gave me a free one since that is the sale. So needless to say I had to go back in on Monday and fix the mistake. I felt terrible that I actually had not paid for either bottle - but the manager was very kind and corrected it. Whew...three days of Cholestoff was enough for me! ;)

But anyway after all the hassle, I saved a grand total of $108.39!!! It was worth it I suppose!

My last stop was CVS - I picked up Colgate and Pepsi's - Saved $$15.78 and got $4 in extra bucks! Not a bad little pick-up there. My hubby was most excited about the Pepsi's! ;)

Well all in all the savings were good and my stockpile grew....so I was a happy shopper!

Until next time...watch your ads...match your coupons and most important check your receipts!

Kroger, Albertsons & CVS...Fun with the family!

Daddy, the boys and I headed out this afternoon to do a little shopping and eat at our favorite Chinese restaurant. It was a fun time of shopping and family fun! Thanks to Daddy and the Bubba's for helping me snag the deals!

Our saving's trip started at Kroger. We decided to make one stop before eating - well that was Daddy's idea anyway. The boys were both starving and not excited about stopping at Kroger, but they were troopers as we made it a game of "find the deal". While Daddy and the boys went in search of Mentos and Pizzas I searched out a few deals I saw online. Unfortunately they were regional and not in our region. I did get Almond milk for Red for $1.12!
Great savings! It was on sale for 3/$5 and I had 55 cent coupons (thanks to all who shared theirs with me)! I also got Chef Boy R Dee for 36 cents a can after sale and coupon! Awesome! Free Mentos gum and 59 cent trident were among the deals! The pizza were my prize at Kroger today - with the sale, $3 off on 10 deal, e-coupons and manufacturers coupons I got them for 46 cents! Woo-Hoo! We love these little pizzas - so easy to pop in for a quick lunch! Total Kroger savings is $46.79 and I got $6 for my next shopping trip!

After Kroger we stopped at Ton's Chinese restaurant...awesome egg drop soup and the egg rolls ~ oh to die for! I do believe that they use "oatmeal cookie spices" in their egg rolls - they are just delightful! Oh my you certainly can't eat just one! We saved here too by sharing one entree and get a few a la cart items and of course water! You can't beat free water!

After dinner we went to Albertson's to rack up some more savings! The boys found an ambulance buggy they wanted to ride in. It was in front of about 15 buggies, but they talked their Daddy into hauling it out. What a sweet Daddy - he did! So I am in the store looking for deals and 10 minutes later after all the buggy rearranging they come in. :) I sent Daddy and the boys in search of a few items - he had his own list and everything! Albertson's was a good haul! We got paper towels for 29 cents a roll and Kleenex TP for $2.49. Salad was 99 cents and eggs were on sale for $1 - I had a 55 cent coupon off 2 - Woo-Hoo! I got Grands Jr. biscuits for 63 cents a can and Campbells double noodle soup for 60 cents! Bug is really excited about that one! I picked up popcorn for 30 cents a box - Awesome!!!! We go through a lot of popcorn around here so I was excited to find this deal! B1G1F with two 50 cent coupons (which double) = a spectacular deal! There is a deal on the back of the box where I can get 2 !!completely!! free reusable grocery bags! Yeah! I am sending in my UPCs next week! I was so excited about my deal finding that I picked up a bottle of white chocolate mocha coffee creamer - on sale with a 55 cent coupon! Yippee! I can't wait to indulge in the morning! Our total Albertsons savings was $50.75!!!!

Our last stop of the evening was CVS which is right across from Albertsons. I was in search of a Theraflu deal, but my local CVS is cheaper than the one in Desoto - so I passed on that one for now. But I did find some deodorant for Hubby! On sale $2.99 and $1.99, combine with a 50 cent coupon and $2 extra bucks = free deodorant! It was strange b/c one rang up at $1.99 even though it was marked $2.99 on the shelf, but I'll take it! Hubby paid for one and I paid for the other so we could get the $2 extra bucks on each. The store has a limit of one per card. While we were standing in line I noticed a display for the Snickers PB squared - I jumped out of line to catch this deal! :) I have been in search of these and can't seem to find them anywhere!
I had a bunch of B1G1F coupons and was disappointed that I wasn't going to get to use them (Exp. 2/20). It was a great deal since they were on sale for 50 cents each. So I got them for 25 cents each and received $4 in extra bucks (on two cards). The deal was buy 4 Mars candy bars and get $1 - limit 2 per card. So we got the deal! These are going in the freezer for treats - the boys were made because I wouldn't let them eat one tonight! LOL - No Way! I know I know...mean old Momma! Total CVS savings was the best - $36.76 plus $8 in extra bucks!

Well this was our deal finding expedition for the day! What fun we had...and money we saved!

Target deals of today!

Well here 'tis! My first post of savings! Are you excited or what!!! :)

I went to Target this afternoon to do a little "alone" shopping. A treat I must admit! Especially since I had a load of coupons to put out in the store...this always takes more time than my boys/Hubby wants to spend. But I love to share extras or items that we just won't use.

My local target shoppers: SAVINGS ALERT! Target has clearance going on...Jergen's lotion - I left a $1 coupon on the shelf. Suave men's shampoo (3 pack) - I left a 50 cent coupon on the shelf. Tide is 15% off and I left a coupon for that too. Pampers and Huggies on sale - I stuck coupons on several - remember you can stack the manufacturer's with the Target to up your savings! Colgate toothpaste, toothbrushes and more!

My deals today were vast and many and I didn't take enough bags in for everything, but I did save 30 cents with the 6 I did take in! That certainly scores a Woo-Hoo!

Deal on milk...apparently there was a price "up" today and someone didn't finish their job of changing the shelf tags. A few of them said $1.69 and some said $1.99. Well Wal-Mart is usually cheaper, but making another stop didn't count as savings for me, so I just decided to pick it up while I was there. I let the cashier know of the price discrepancy when it rang up at $1.99...which I refuse to pay by the way...I would have stopped at Wal-Mart! He called the manager gal over and she did a price check - it came back at $1.99, but she told him to change it. I was surprised, I suppose she decided I was honest. I am glad because I try really hard to be forthright and honest in my deal finding! So anyway - deal on milk: $1.69...avoiding Friday night at Wal-Mart: Priceless! :)

Deal # 2: Kraft deli cheese...oh how we love this stuff! I have never spent the money on it before b/c I just didn't think it was worth it. I admit it I am a cheap-o! But I got some a while back for 80 cents and thought "Well okay, we'll try it out!" AUGH! It's awesome! I love cheese anyway and these are spectacular on sandwiches or on crackers or triscuits. Yum-O! While I won't pay full price if I can find a good deal I will certainly grab some up. With my $1/2 Target coupon and my 75 cent manufacturer coupon I got these for $1.08. I thought that was worth it!

My other deals included 20 pack Finish gelpacs for 25 cents! :) Double Stuff Oreo cookies for $2.03 (the 5 sleeve family size box!!!) This is a great one b/c Oreo's are one of the few cookies that do not have milk products in them so Red can have them for dessert. Woo-Hoo! Quaker oatmeal squares (Hubby's fav cereal) $2.14 for the double pack box. 22 pack of instant lower sugar Quaker oatmeal for $2.74. I picked up Jello for 26 cents a box. This is another staple around here - since Red can't have yogurt he eats Jello. I picked up Vaseline lotion for 69 cents and 99 cents; Gillette body wash for 95 cents and sensodyne toothpaste for 24 cents. I got two free Aquafresh extreme clean toothpastes and one for 44 cents as well as men and women's degree deodorants for 22 cents. I also picked up a pair of house shoes for Hubby (next year) for $2.48 and 2 pairs of sweat pants for $1.48 each and 2 sweatshirts for $1.48 each. This was a great find since my kids (especially Bug) lives in pants with elastic instead of buttons.

So my trip was successful! I saved $131.09 total which is about 69% savings. My goal is to get it up to 90% savings!

Okay well that's all for tonight...I really gotta get to bed...everyone else has left me sitting in here playing with blogger and gone to bed. Nite all....till next time, be kind to your cashier, save a load and let the man with only 2 items go in front of you!
