Shopping trip at the Wal-Mart!

Well here's my goodies from last weekends shopping trip. As ya'll know it was tax-free weekend so I always take advantage of that $.08 savings and get underthings for everyone...No I didn't take a pic of our new underwear! LOL

But I did get a pic of my new tennys! My old ones were literally falling apart...it was quite sad. I had been waiting to grab a pair until back to school savings, so here they are! Are you excited for me? I ended up with black because all the white ones appeared smudged already and I figured if that was already the case, well I would do quite a number on them! LOL

I also picked up a few school supplies and now I see I forgot to get a pic of them. I got a crate for Red's workbox system stuff and hanging file folders. I also got a pack of 8 color dry erase markers for our "stick figuring through the bible" study this year.

I matched an ad for $.99 for french bread! More french toast sticks to come - yeah! What a deal too, I saved $.61 a loaf!!!

I ad matched ground beef for $1 a pound! I saved $5.38 each on these! Taco soup, sliders and sloppy joes are in the works!

Grabbed two more family packs of chicken breasts for $.99 a lb. This is a great deal and saved me $.89 a lb! I am working on freezer meals - chicken macaroni bake, chicken bacon subs, BBQ chicken sandwiches, popcorn chicken, chicken tortilla soup! Yum!!!

I matched an ad for T-bones - $3.99 lb - oh how happy my hubby is gonna be when I break these out! The savings are great too - $4.99 a lb!

Do you use chicken bouillon - oh I do! In just about everything - especially since I had to cut out the cow's milk! I grabbed these for $.98 with an ad match - that is a savings of $2 each! Woo-Hoo! I also matched salt for $.33 each - saved a penny! A penny saved is a penny earned, right!

Couldn't pass up the pears for $.79 a lb or the baby carrots for $.99!

Hubby's gonna have some cucumbers in his lunch this week! Ad match for 3 for $1! That saved me $.25 a cuc! Yeah!!!

Bananas were a terrific savings this week! $.29 a pound! Awesome! Red loves bananas! I am planning to make some more of those Fresh (From the Freezer) Muffins! Plus I saved $.29 a lb - half price!!!

Yum! Yum!!! Yum!!!!!!

Watermelons were a great deal at Sprouts for $1.88 so I matched the ad and grabbed 2! They are chilling in the fridge! Gonna cut them up and have some cool sweet watermelon! Yeah!

Okay that was my trip...very quick I have to say! Hope you enjoyed my sharing!

Until next time...be nice to your cashier, chat with the people behind you so they don't get annoyed and smile a lot!!!! ;)

Wally-World Trip! ;)

I have noticed a slowing trend in the sales over the past few weeks...I am not using as many coupons as I was before. But this could be partly because I am stocked up on many items? I have been matching a lot of produce ads though so that is making for some good canning days!

I picked up some chicken breasts with an ad match for $1 a pound which saved me $.88 a pound. Love it! I am planning to make some home made chicken nuggets with these! Yum!
Hubby has been loving the chips and salsa in his lunches so I matched an ad for $2.99 and got a couple of big bags of tortilla chis. I saved $.09 a bag on these!
Bananas were on sale 3 lbs for $1.00 - Red loves bananas so I was excited to make the ad match-up! I saved $.16 a pound! I need to get Kellie's muffin recipe and make some banana nut muffins for the freezer!
Produce, Produce, Produce - I love the sales! Strawberries were on sale for $1.15 a lb - yeah! I love strawberries and so does Red so we are going to enjoy these! I picked up leaf lettuce for $.88 - saved $1 with my ad! I also picked up a head of lettuce for $.79 - I saved $.35! I matched an ad for baby carrots - $.99 which saved me $.79. I also matched oranges 8 for $1 - regular price was $.48 each!!! I am planning to make some orange monkey bread!!! Pears were on sale for $.88 a pound - a good deal (regular price is $1.17 a pound!)
I matched an ad on sugar for $1 a bag! Always a great deal -saved $1.25 a bag!
Used a coupon and snagged Hubby a FREE yogurt for his lunch! Yipee!
I matched an ad for Hamburger Helper - $.99 a box which saved me $.51 each. Plus I used a coupon for $.80 off 4! So actually they are $.79 a box. The really cool part is that is was a swagbucks printable coupon so I will earn 10 swagbucks for using it! Woo-hoo!
Well that was the shopping this week...not real exciting I guess, but yummy I must say! LOL

Until next time...smile at your neighbor in line...greet your cashier with a friendly hello and brag to the CSM about how good your shopping trip was!

A quick trip to Wal-Mart and a good find at Lakeshore!

Last week was a light shopping week again - just went to pick up a few good sale items and a couple of necessities. The boys and I were in Dallas for eye/hearing checks so we went by Lakeshore Learning store to do some laminating - I picked up two packages of construction paper (pink and red) for $.29 - WOW! Can't beat that deal!
The tags said they were on clearance because they were faded - but I couldn't tell!

Wal-mart was our grocery stop this week. For Bug's work box system I am using a file crate and hanging folders so he got to pick out his own crate - blue of course. LOL His fav color!
Pineapples were on sale for $.99 this week so I matched the ad at Wal-Mart and got
10 - we are canning these babies....when winter comes and produce is $$$ we will
have yummy sweet pineapple in the pantry! Yeah!
Ramen were on sale at Save-a-lot for $1.79 which saves $.19 a box ! I know some of you are saying - what Ramen Noodles - gross, bad for you, disgusting! Well let me just tell you I personally have a love for Ramen...I suppose it started back when I was a kid and my Aunt Bean would make them for me and my cousin Kisha - she put them in wooden bowls and drained all the juice and cooked them just so - that way they were not mushy. Oh the love affair began so long ago and still today I just get a craving for a good bowl of Ramen....sigh. I miss you Aunt Jean in the red house with the wooden bowls and the beautiful smile...
French bread...oh, need I say more. Who else just wants to sit with the whole loaf in the back of the closet where no one can see you? Just kidding...I don't do that. But I won't say that I have dreamed about it. I love love love french bread! (Just in case you didn't get that before - haha!) There are plans for french toast in the works with this yummy stuff...not to mention sandwiches, garlic bread...and hey just plain eating!!!!
Good deals on stuff for the salsa Hubby and I made last night! Jalapenos were on sale for 2lbs for $.98 @ Wrights - that's a savings of $.39 a pound! Yeah! Onions were 6 lbs for $1 - the regular price at wm is $1.28/lb! WoW! Cilantro was also an ad match - $.25 @ Malones - it's $.48 @ wm! Cantaloupes were an ad match as well - I had an ad for $.99, but the gal at wm told me there was an ad out for $.89 - so she gave it to me for that price - score! I wish I had gotten more of them - I wasn't sure when I bought it. The cantaloupe selection didn't look that hot - and the rind on this one was really thick, but let me tell you the meat of the melon was about as sweet as I have ever tasted - it was quite delish!
Maters - Roma this week - 3 lbs for $1.00 - what a steal - (regular price at wm is $1.38/lb)! Woo-Hoo! Hubby and I had plans for salsa making so I picked up 15 pounds of maters!
Other good deals - pineapple - already mentioned them above. Mushrooms - ad match for $1.50 (saved $.28 each - thank you Tom Thumb!). We love to saute them so I grabbed two! Cherries - ad match for $2.49 lb - I can't wait to dry these babies - I am determined to make some granola bars and not eat them all! LOL

Oh I just noticed that I didn't get a pic of the Gatorade. Tom Thumb had the 32 oz on sale for $.49 when you buy ten. Well I covered my bases and picked up 50 - what a great deal - these are normal price $1 at wm. Hubby drinks these after his morning work out so I try to keep them on hand. Thank you Tom Thumb!!!

Well that was my trip last week. Short and sweet and filled with good deals! Until next time use your coupons, be nice to your cashier and smile a lot!

Target was another stop on my list. I stacked up some Tums coupons and got Tums for $0.02 - woo-hoo! ; I also used a $1/1 Target coupon and got sharpies for $.49! Yeah! I used a couple of Target coupons to get $0.75 off Allergy tabs...we never seem to have enough of those. I used $1/1 Revlon product Target coupons and picked up clippers for $0.57!

At Wal-Mart I did some ad matching for produce - I love ad matching produce - it saves me a ton!

I matched bananas and saved $.16 a pound! I also matched apples and save $.48 a pound. Lettuce was on sale for $.59 a head and garlic was my prize of the week - 8 lbs for $1 (compared to the normal $2.98 a pound!)

I also matched an ad for bread (b/c I forgot to get Hubby to stop at the bread store), but it was still a good deal at $.68 a loaf.

Well that's my shopping for the week - as I said - not much...

Until next time...we-

Sugar $.99 - stocked up on that as we are southerners around here and love our sweet tea! (Not to mention making Jam!)

The produce deals are abundant these days so I am trying to buy while it's cheap and put it up for later when it's not. I picked up several good deals in this trip and am excited to get them in the jars/freezer.

Plans are to make pickled jalapeno's and pineapple in very light syrup.

Saved $2.70 on my Jalapeno's with a 3lbs/$1 ad match! Save $1 each on my pineapples with an ad match!

More produce deals! Apples - got the 3 lb bags for $2.77 (it was cheaper than the $.99/lb ad). Saved $1.83 on peaches - I want to make some peach pie filling with these! Eggs were $.99 for the 18 count - saved $.65!

Ruffles were $1.88 - that's $1.10 savings! Fritos and Cheetos were $1.69 so I saved $.81 per bag!

I also picked up some cornbread mix for the pantry - saved $.25 each bag with my ad!

I am very excited that Hubby has cut down on his soda drinking...he opts for a powerade after his morning workout - so finding a sale is always a plus! $.69 each (saved $.09!)

Okay so my totals were:

$36.90 saved with coupons &

$43.95 saved with ad match-ups!

I would say it's still worth it! :)

Until next time be kind to the poor soul who gets in line behind you...perhaps we should make signs for our buggy; smile A LOT ~ like until your face hurts; and pass along good words about the cashier to the CSM!

Last Big Wal-Mart Trip

Well I am just getting around to updating the blog from my latest Wal-Mart Shopping. I did a "big" trip before 4th of July weekend. I got out of the store feeling like my savings were not as significant as they should have been, but then realized that I had purchased a few necessities that we needed that we were not part of our "norm". I matched ads and saved $42.06 as well as $57.44 with my coupons. (I even had $1.01 in overage - which I always love to see!).

I was excited to see that the Midlothian store had a "rollback" on their Kerr canning jars! They had been more expensive than the Waxahachie store, but I was delighted to see that they rolled them back to $6.97 with my coupon I paid $6.22 for a dozen pint jars. Yeah!

I also matched an ad for cucumbers. 8/$1 - what a deal - Hubby's been wanting me to make some bread and butter pickles, so yippee here they be! I saved $.31 each on my cukes!

Jalepeno's were another add match. I am fairly confident in my pickled jalepeno making these days and as much as my hubby LOVES them - I figured I would make another batch! I saved $2.33 on my 4 1/2 pounds. Can't beat $.25 a pound!

TP was also on the list - I matched an ad for 6 double rolls for $2.99 - the regular wm prices was $3.88. Not a bad deal!

Plums - yummy - planned to make some freezer jam out of these beauties. Picked them up with an ad match for $.88/lb and saved $3.62 on them!

Tortilla chips - a staple around here - I matched an ad for $2.48 and then used a coupon for $.75/1. WOW! Love the savings!

Broccoli - yum! Can't wait to steam this up with some cheese! Matched an add for $.99 a pound which saved me $.49/lb!

Oh my favorite EVER candy - Haribo gummy bears. Matched an ad for $.88 and got four! Better hide these! LOL

Apples - a staple around here - can't wait until our trees produce! Snagged these for $.67/lb - loved it! Stocked us up for a few weeks!

Hubby's been drinking powerade after his morning workout so I was excited to match an ad for $.69 - saved $.19 per bottle!

Dial body wash, Carefree, Floss. Plus I used several coupons for aspirin (and a rebate so it will be free); $.50 baby wipes, $.38 benadryl itch sticks; $.27 zyrtec, $.97 John Frieda; $2.62 flea drops for Lady and saved $1 on batteries for Hubby's workout machine.

Coupon Chat Canning Play Date!

Oh how blessed our family is to have this great homeschool group ECCHO - what an important part of our lives they have become in such a short amount of time...God is SO good!

From that awesome group has been born a group Made Couponing Moms (a bunch of us moms who have been saving tons of money matching ads using our Q's) . LOL Well the coupon chat group met up at Kellie Watson's house for a day of canning and fun! What a day it was! We had an absolute blast working together and chatting and gabbing and canning! The kids had a ball playing together and having fun with friends! They played outside in the little pool/mud hole and then played inside for a while. They had a blast making memories with good friends.

We made so many good things! We worked for about 5 hours and put up 63 jars of goodies! WOW! What a blessing!

You can see in the various pictures everyone working hard and having fun in Kellie's kitchen. What a blessing this sweet woman is ~ so sweet to open her home to the 8 moms and 17 - yes I said 17 kids that showed up! LOL

Here you can see Kellie setting yet another time for something we had going. LOL - good thing she has the timer app on her IPhone - which gave us 30 times! LOL - so funny! But quite useful! I think by the end of the afternoon the beeping was getting to all of us. LOL

It was Julie Sillivan's birthday so sweet
Sarah brought a cookie cake to sha
re! The kids were quite excited about this and it was very Yummy! Happy Birthday Julie - it was great to chat with you!

Here you can see Tamra and Brenda with the ever present stirring...oh my goodness what a workout! LOL - I thought my arm was going to fall off before those crazy strawberries got to a boil! LOL

Sarah became our designated jar labeler since she had the "cute handwriting" (per Angela Perry). LOL

Angela and Kellie storing some of the leftover applesauce - we will be canning again so we decided to freeze it for later! Well now that I think of it Kellie is planning to make some apple pie filling with the leftover apples and Brenda is making plum jam with the plums so the leftover
applesauce will go into that.

Here's the group (minus a couple of friends - Julie and Marsha - that had already left)

Left to Right - Tamra, Kellie, Brenda, Sarah, Angela and Moi!

And here is our bounty!

Peach Jam with natural pectin!

Cowboy Candy (candied jalapenos) My hubby is very excited about these!

Diced peaches in medium syrup! (slobber)

Raspberry Jam made with natural pectin!

Strawberry jam made with natural pectin.

Jalapeno Jelly - whew what that a sinus clearing time in the kitchen! LOL
